Reiki pronounced (ray-key) is an ancient healing touch therapy. It is a non-invasive form of healing. The Reiki practitioner and client discuss the client's needs and expectations. The client either lies on a body-work table or is seated in a chair while fully clothed. The Reiki practitioner will place their hands on or above the client's body in various spots. Different people have different reactions. Some may feel heat or a tingling sensation, while others may feel nothing. Some will feel relaxed and grounded, while others will feel energized. Most will leave with a sense of  well-being.

     A Reiki treatment brings the body, mind, and spirit into balance and harmony by awakening the body's own immune system and helping to relieve stress. It calls upon an individual's own life force energy to restore its natural balance. It can be used on people of any age and can be used in combination with traditional and holistic medicine to aid in the healing process. Reiki recognizes that the body is a flowing energy field, continually reorganizing and changing itself. Just as you have an intricate nervous and circulatory system, you have a complex energy system - all of which are linked together. When the flow of energy is blocked, disrupted, or unbalanced due to physical or emotional stress this can lead to disease. Reiki helps to clear, balance, and strengthen the pathways of the energy so the body can connect with the Universal Flow of Energy or Chi.

I do not anger.
I do my work honestly.
I am kind to all life and all creation.

     Usui Reiki Level One consists of an initiation and learning how to use Reiki for healing yourself and others with whom you have direct contact. 

     Usui Reiki Level Two takes you to a deeper understanding and a higher degree of energy enabling the student to do absentee and distant healing. Sacred symbols are taught. 

     Usui Reiki Level Three Master/Teacher Certification is for those seeking to be Master/Teacher. The level of energy is increased and more sacred symbols will be taught. You will be qualified to teach and attune others.

     The Contemporary System of Reiki makes use of a broader set of symbols and hand placements. It is also done in three levels basically as described above.

     Karuna Reiki® is for people who are already Usui Reiki Masters. It was developed by the International Center for Reiki Training.

Level One contains four symbols, and a Practitioner I attunement.
Level Two has four more symbols and the Practitioner II attunement. 
Level Three has four Master symbols. 
Level Four - Master Teacher Certification has meditations for self-healing, instruction, and practice in giving and receiving treatments using symbols and for giving attunements for Practitioner and Master levels.
Chanting and toning are also touched upon.
